Members of the Play Ball Foundation Team will raise critical funds to provide middle school students in high-need Massachusetts communities with access to school-based sports leagues. Play Ball partners directly with public school districts to fund and grow after-school sports, making it possible for students to join a team, stay active, and build the confidence and connections that carry into every part of their lives.

 

For many of these middle schoolers, this is the first time they’ve ever played on a team, worn a uniform, or experienced the pride of representing their school. Opportunities that are taken for granted in more affluent districts are finally being made available through Play Ball.

 

Today, we reach more than 8,000 students across eleven districts: Boston, Lawrence, Holyoke, New Bedford, Lynn, Salem, Methuen, Chelsea, Taunton, Quincy, and Chicopee — and we’re committed to bringing the power of school sports to even more students in the years ahead.

 

Applications will be reviewed, and runners will be notified of their selection on a rolling basis.

 

The Play Ball Foundation Marathon Team will be finalized by December 2025.
